Thonet Pair of 209 Chairs 1970s/80s

Beautiful set of 2 Thonet model 209 armchairs from the 1970s/80s.
One is marked with the original paper Thonet label, the other one with 'Thonet 88'.
Classic chair and a favorite of Le Corbusier who used this chair a lot in his projects, for example in the Weissenhofdiedlung in Stuttgart 1927.
The chairs are made of bent black lacquered beech wood and have a woven cane seat. The chair consists of only 6 parts.
Graceful and elegant. Due to its aesthetic reduction in combination with the organic form, it almost looks like a sculpture.
The chairs are in good original condition. Some lacquer damage on top of the armrests, caused by putting the chairs under the table. The cane seats are undamaged.
