Kaare Klint Pair of Safari Chairs Rud Rasmussen Denmark 1960s
Lovely pair of safari chairs, designed by Kaare Klint for Rud Rasmussen Denmark.
Originally designed in 1933. This pair is from the 1950s/60s. One still has the original label underneath the seat.
The chairs have a stained pine frame, still the original beige/olive upholstery and leather armrests and straps. The visible joinery and leather straps give this chair a raw aesthetic. The chair is supported by carved, tapered legs that add refinement to the appearance.
The chairs are in good original condition, some normal traces of use due to time and usage, which give the chairs a beautiful patine. 1 chair has a tiny damage at the left side of the backrest (see the last photo). From the other chair, the 2 leather straps underneath the seat are replaced.
