Ko Verzuu Rare Child Chair + Table Ado 1930s
Very rare early child chair + table designed by Ko Verzuu in the 1930s for Ado.
Ado means Arbeid door onvolwaardigen, translated: labor by incapacitated. Ko Verzuu was the main designer and he developed a strong preference for the abstract lines and bright colours, inspired by De Stijl, Gerrit Rietveld and De Haagse School.
This chair was one of the earliest works by the Ado workshop. Not many were made and definitely only a few survived. Very interesting piece for collectors.
I've never seen the table before, it makes a lovely set together.
The chair and table are repainted at some time, the chair in green and pale yellow with yellow/orange ends. The table in green and grey with yellow/orange ends. This must be done years ago as the set obtained a nice patina again.
The set is in good condition. No wood damages.
