Mario Bellini Set of 6 Break Chairs Cassina 1976
Set of 6 Break chairs designed by Mario Bellini in 1976 for Cassina.
The "Break" Dining Chair was designed as part of the Cassina "The Book of Furniture" modular furniture range. The principle is that panels can be assembled in an endless variety of arrangements resulting in the basic idea of what a chair looks like.
The chairs are marked with the orriginal Cassina label.
Very luxury dining chairs, high quality made. The chairs have a steel construction with polyurethane foam over it and they are upholstered with old pink velour fabric (still the original fabric) with brown leather piping. The seat cushions are filled with down. All chairs have the gliders.
Clean modernist lines and despite its rigid appearance they are very comfortable. The backrest is a bit flexible.
This chair is part of the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The chairs are in good original condition. No damages, no stains, just some normal traces of use due to time and usage.
