Piet Blom Bastille Chair 1965

Very rare Bastille chair designed by Piet Blom around 1965.
Piet Blom is a well known architect famous for his Cube houses in Rotterdam.
He designed the chairs for the cafetaria (nicknamed The Bastille) at the Technical University of Twente. Only 400 of these chairs were made and less than 200 survived the renovation of the chairs during the nineties.
Unique to this chair is that it still has its original paint. It is not repainted like almost any other during the renovation. I've never seen one before, very special.
The chair is made of lacquered wood in a constructivist style, a hommage to 'De Stijl'.
It is in good condition with patina Some loss of lacquer and a few little damages on the wood, as visible on the pictures. The chair is sturdy.
