Set of 6 Cane and Bentwood Dining Chairs after Thonet 209 1900 / 1970s
Fantastic set of 6 dining chairs after the famous Thonet chair model 209.
Unfortunately the chairs are not marked, so the manufacturer is unknown. These chairs come from the 1970s.
Classic chair and a favorite of Le Corbusier who used this chair a lot in his projects, for example in Weissenhof Stuttgart 1927.
The chairs are made of bent and stained beech wood and have a woven cane seat.
Graceful and elegant.
The chairs are in very good original condition, some nice patina on the frames. The cane seats are very good without damages. The curve of the left back side of 1 chair is not completely how it should be (see last picture), but is is stable and sturdy. Probably this was a little fault in the production.
