Set of 6 dining chairs, model 116, designed by Wim Rietveld in 1953 for Gispen.
These are the original early ones and not the reissue.
Classic Dutch chair, designed even before the other Dutch classic: the Revolt by Friso Kramer.
Fantastic set.
They have a birch plywood seat and backrest and a grey bar steel frame.3 have white floorcaps and 3 have black.
Due to the rubber shockmounts (like the chairs by Charles and Ray Eames) in the backrest and underneath the seat the chairs are very comfortable.
The chairs are in good condition.The seats and backrests are refinished. The shockmounts are also still very good. Just some wear on the frames.
