GERRIT RIETVELD PAIR OF UTRECHT LOUNGE CHAIRS CASSINA 1935/1988

Fantastic pair of modernist lounge chairs, model 637 Utrecht, designed by Gerrit Rietveld. Originally designed for Metz & Co and in 1988 reintroduced by Cassina.
The chairs are newly upholstered with a nice Kvadrat Sunniva 2 (designed by Raf Simons) blended light grey/greenish (color 132) fabric (58% wool).
This chair was the first upholstered (and comfortable) one Gerrit Rietveld designed.
They have a steel supporting frame, polyurethane foam and polyester padding.
Classic design by the master.
The chairs are in excellent condition.
