Josef Hoffmann Pair of 'Palais Stoclet' Lounge Chairs Wittmann Austria 1905/1990s

Pair of 'Palais Stoclet' lounge chairs, designed by modernist architect and designer Josef Hoffmann 1905-1911 and produced by Wittmann Austria.
Both chairs are marked with the original Wittmann label.
The banker Adolphe Stoclet commissioned Josef Hoffmann to build a city residence in Brussels. In addition to an unlimited budget, he also had a free hand in the concept and elaboration of this assignment. The Palais Stoclet became one of his most celebrated 'Gesamtkunstwerk' of architecture, interior design, decoration and landscaping.
These chairs were designed for the hall. They have black stained wooden legs and still the original cream fabric upholstery.
The chairs are quite large and of very high quality.
They are in very good original condition. A few minimal and light stains in the fabric. Hardly visible and nothing to be worried about.
