Pair of 1407 easy chairs, designed by Wim Rietveld in 1954 for Gispen.
This is the larger version of the more common Gispen 1401 chair. The 1407 is 5 cm larger and deeper. Besides that the back is upholstered in contrast to the 1401, where the plate steel back is visible.
The chairs are reupholstered with a red and blue melange fabric (Camira Advantage). Also the foam is renewed.
The chairs have a black metal frame and black bakelite armrests.
Nice minimalist appearance and comfortable as well.
The chairs are in excellent condition.
