Friso Kramer Double Bookcase Asmeta 1953

Double metal bookcase designed by Friso Kramer in 1953 for the Bijenkorf (Dutch exclusive department store) and produced by Asmeta.
Martin Visser commissioned Friso Kramer to design a simple bookcase / shelving unit for the Bijenkorf, where Martin Visser was working at that time.
The colors that are used, dark blue and soft yellow, were the colors of the Bijenkorf in the 1950s.
These boocases are not offered a lot, especially not in this double version.
Very nice clean and simple design. Modernist design, like an abstract piece of art.
It has a light grey steel frame and shelves and dark blue and soft yellow side and backpanels, that can be placed wherever wanted.
Also usable as a roomdivider/
The bookcase is in good original condition. Some traces of use. Little loss of lacquer on the top left shelf and at the bottom of the frame.
