Pair of bookcases, model RY8, designed by Hans Wegner in the 1950s for RY Mobler Denmark.
Both marked with the 'Danish Furniture Makers Control' sticker and 1 also stamped with the RY Mobler mark.
Both are made of oak wood. They are very well made. Also they are versatile with adjustable shelves that can be moved or removed along pre-drilled holes.
The bookcases are not exactly the same, probably one is bit older. The older one is a bit darker and has curved shelf fronts. It is the same model and the sizes are equal.
Very sturdy bookcases with nice details, such as visible dowel joints, contrasting feet and ingenious supports for the shelves that prevent them from sliding.
They are in very good original condition. No damages on the wood,. Just some normal traces of use. Both have a small hole for wiring in the backpanel.
