DUTCH MODERNIST CABINET + SIDE TABLE 1930s

Very rare Dutch modernist set from the early 1930s.
According to the previous owner the set was purchased at Metz & Co (the famous Dutch department store for modernist home furnishings) and designed by Willem Penaat, who was the main designer at Metz & co at that time. Unfortunately we cannot proof this.
The set is made of black stained oak wood and has a fantastic patina, really nice.
It consists of a cabinet and a matching side table. The cabinet has shelves and 2 hinged doors with very attractive handlles, at the bottom.
Unique and beautiful set.
The set is in good original condition. The top of the cabinet has a very thin crack (15cm) and has a light circle due to a vase, as you can see on picture 8.
