Herbert Hirche Desk Holzapfel Germany 1957
Beautiful modernist desk designed by Herbert Hirche in 1957 for Christian Holzapfel Germany.
Herbert Hirche was an architect and furniture/product designer who studied at the Bauhaus from 1930-1933. Later he was working for Mies van der Rohe and Egon Eiermann.
The desk is nicely crafted and executed in teak and grey metal. It is marked with the manufacturer's label inside a drawer. On the right it has 4 drawers and on the left 2 drawers, including a large hanging-file drawer. The metal handles are very well-shaped.
All drawers can be locked, the original keys are with it.
Fantastic desk that's not offered a lot.
The desk is in very good original condition. Some normal traces of use on the top.
