Dirk van der Kooij Melting Pot Dining Table Netherlands 2015

Iconic 'Melting Pot' dining or breakfast table designed by Dirk van der Kooij in 2015 en produced in his own atelier.
The Melting Pot collection offers a third life to recycled plastic prototypes and colour tests from the Kooij studio. Daily, the in-house colourist composes a table from precious, fleeting resources. As such, each piece is a one-off interaction between intuition, material, and chance. The nature of this interaction means that it is not possible to specify a palette or pattern.
This amazing table is an early production. It has a beautiful pattern and can serve as a small dining table or breakfast table.
It is in good condition with some normal traces of use.

Dirk van der Kooij graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2010 and is well known for his 'Endless Chair' from 2011 with which he won the Dutch Design Award. The chair set a precedent for the work that would follow: many of Dirk’s designs can be considered vessels intending material showcase and preservation.
The Melting Pot table plays a keystone role in his approach to circular and sustainable design.
