J. Hoogervorst Grasshopper Floor Lamp Anvia 1955

Grasshopper floor lamp designed by J. Hoogervorst in 1955 for Anvia.
This is one of the rarest, if not the rarest, lamps by Anvia. It is only made in very small quantities, almost impossible to find an original from the 1950s..
This particular lamp is original from the 1950s. So no reissue by the 'new Anvia' who started reissueing many models in 2015, including this iconic Grasshopper.
The lamp has a yellow (still the original paint) aluminum shade, black metal feet and a black and nickel plated metal stem with a heavy cylinder at the bottom. The on/off switch is on top of the shade.
By moving the feet up or down the stem you can adjust the angle of the lamp. The shade is adjustable as well.
Fantastic minimalist floor lamp by one of the best Dutch lighting designers.
The lamp is in overall good condition. The shade has a tiny spot (a bit of lacquer damage inside the shade) on the edge. The black metal feet have some traces of use. The previous owner made a small hole at the bottom of the stem for wiring, now we used the original hole in the heavy cylinder for the wiring as it was intended. The hole in the stem is hardly visible as it is on the underside of it (in the last picture we turned it 90 degrees to show the hole).
And the black part of the stem is repainted some time ago.
Anyhow a beautiful and ultra rare Dutch lighting icon.
