Bruno Munari Pair of Esagonale Pendants Danese Italy 1959
Very rare pair of Esagonale Pendants designed by Bruno Munari in 1959 for Danese Italy.
Both have an impressed manufacturer's mark at the top 'Brevettato Danese Milano'.
These are of the original early edition, no reissue.
Danese was founded in 1957 and their goal was to combine art and design in a long-term project that would be both cultural and industrial. The main players in this first phase were Bruno Munari and Enzo Mari.
These lamps are a clear example of what they were aiming for; unique in design and use of materials.
The lamps are made of concentric hexagonal rings of reflective sheet aluminum. The light from the incandescent light bulb is reflected in all directions by the sheets and evenly illuminates the space.
Fantastic lamps!
Only one still available. Some parts/rings are slightly crooked towards other parts, not that bad and hard to get on the picture.
Furthermore some normal traces of wear due to time and usage.
Even the ceiling cylinder is with it.
