Bas van Pelt Pair of Rope Lounge Chairs My Home 1936

Rare pair of rope lounge chairs, designed by Bas van Pelt ca. 1936 for My Home Netherlands.
This chair was designed earlier (1936) than the similar chairs by Andoux & Minet (1940s/50s/).
The chairs have a striking curved frame made of solid oak wood. The seat and backrest retain their original and well preserved braided rope.
They are very comfortable, due to its solid and slightle tilted constraction.
These hard to find chairs are part of the permanent collection of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and has been well documented in literature.
Beautiful chairs.
The chairs are in good original condition. The oak frames are excellent, the braided rope has some traces of use, but no damages.

Price € 6000,- for the pair
