Modernist pair of lounge chairs, model B35, designed by Marcel Breuer in 1928 at the Bauhaus.
This pair is manufactured by Thonet (marked with the label) in 1992 (written underneath the rattan seat).
Following the succes of the 'Wassily' chair Marcel Breuer continued to experiment with tubular steel furniture. The B35 clearly conforms to the Bauhaus principles of design and construction, with its modern stripped-down form made from industrial materials not typically used in furniture at that time.
The chairs have a tubular chrome plated steel frame, a woven reattan seating and solid beech wooden armrests.
This version with the rattan seating is not in production anymore.
The chairs are in very good original condition. The frames are excellent and no damages to the rattan. Only minor traces of wear.
