Gianfranco Frattini Model 804 Rolltop Desk / Cabinet Bernini Italy 1960s
Fantastic rolltop desk / cabinet, model 804, designed by Gianfranco Frattini in the early 1960s for Bernini Italy.
The desk is characterized by an ingenious mechanic pulling mechanism, if the desk plate is pulled out, the roll-top opens simultaneously. When it is open, drawers in different sizes and a leather inlayed top become visible. At the front it features 10 drawers and at the backside it has 4 open storage compartments. On the top it has a glass shelf, so you can put things on it and still use the rolltop.
The desk / cabinet is very well crafted and quite heavy for its size. It is made of rosewood veneer, the legs are in solid wood that are connected with aluminum strips. The handles are made of nickel plated metal.
The desk can stand free in a space nicely, as it is full finished.
Beautiful and ingenious desk.
It is in very good original condition. Just little traces of use. The glass shelf has a tiny chip at the side.
