Minimalist sideboard. model DU03, designed by Cees Braakman in 1958 for Pastoe.
This model is the most attractive of the well known 'Japanese Series' and is a true icon of Dutch Mid-century Modern design. Highly collectible.
Very clean lines and the minimal black metal base gives it a floating appearance.
It is made of teak wood with beautiful black plastic handles and a black metal base. 4 doors with a shelf behind and on the right 4 drawers.
This sideboard comes from an office and when they bought it in the 1960s they asked Pastoe to make 2 locks in the doors. The keys are not there anymore.
It is in very condition. We refinished the top. On the left side it has a small repaired damage. On some pictures this looked more bad than it is, the last picture gives a realistic display.
