Rare modernist coffee table by Willem Penaat for Metz & Co 1940s.
The table is made of off white lacquered wood.
Metz & Co was the leader in the Netherlands in the field of home furnishings and modern design. They worked with great designers like Gerrit Rietveld, Elmar Berkovich, Bart van der Leck etc.
Willem Penaat was working for Metz & Co from 1923 till 1950 and was responsible for the creative aesthetic aspects of the furniture.
The table is in good original condition with some traces of wear due to time and usage, as visible in the pictures.
